Otis J. Johnson, 84, of Gallipolis, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Holzer Senior Care Center.

He was born December 16, 1928, in Gallia County, son of the late J.G. and Gusta Irene Halley Johnson. Otis graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict where he achieved the rank of Sargent.

Otis retired from Akzo-Chemical. He was a member of the Gallia County Senior Citizens and Franklin Valley Golf Course where he spent many enjoyable hours. He attended Faith Baptist Church.

Otis is survived by his wife, Luella Neal Johnson, whom he married Oct. 18, 1953; their daughter, Debra (Ray) Toomey of Longwood, Florida; two grandsons, John Toomey of Washington, D.C. and Neal Toomey of Orlando, Florida; his sister, Bette (James) Lozier of Pickerington, Ohio; nieces and a nephew; sister-in-law, Edith Taylor of South Point, Ohio; and a very special friend, James “Jeep” Holley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Henry Houck.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lusher and Pastor Joseph Godwin officiating. Entombment will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Chapel of Hope Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Ray Toomey, John Toomey, Neal Toomey, James Lozier, Jim Lozier and James (Jeep) Holley.
