Early Sunday morning February 24, 2013, Heaven gained another angel when God called Eugene Lee Call home as he was surrounded by his family.

Gene was known by many people throughout the county and was most of all known for his dedication and service to his church, Fellowship of Faith, where he was a member. Gene left behind a testimony that assured his family and friends that they will see him again and knew when he entered Heaven’s gates that he was healed of all of his physical ailments and is now walking on the streets of gold in Heaven.

Gene was employed as a Field Foreman by the Gallia County Rural Water Company for 31 plus years and truly loved and appreciated all of his fellow coworkers.

Gene enjoyed spending time caring for the family farm. He spent numerous hours caring for the farm and took great pride in the farm and seeing that it was cared for. Gene was always ready to help anyone who called and asked for help. He had a very caring heart and loved and cherished his family. He also enjoyed taking vacations and one of his favorite places to go was Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and had to always take a drive through Cades Cove while he was there. He was also a member of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance group in Jackson, Ohio.

Gene, age 62, was born March 27, 1950 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Hobart and Genevieve (Buck) Call. He married Valnora A. Call of Bidwell, Ohio, at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, April 7, 1990. Gene is also survived by one son, Brad (Stacey) Call, Point Pleasant; and two daughters, Amanda Call, Gallipolis, Ohio, and Sheryl Coggins, Columbus, Ohio area; one sister, Janet (Marlin) Kingery, Bidwell, Ohio. He is also survived by his mother in law, Naomi Loel, Londonderry, Ohio; and a sister in law and brother in law, Randy and Tammy Baxter, also of Londonderry, Ohio. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Fellowship of Faith Church 20344 SR 554, Rio Grande, Ohio, with Pastor Greg Scott and Michael Denney officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill Cemetery, Centerville, Ohio. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Fellowship of Faith Church. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton is honored to serve the Call Family.
