Bethany Noel Hackney, age 18, of Oak Hill, received her angel wings on Friday, February 8, 2013. She was born on October 2, 1994, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the daughter of Mark and Valerie (Bock) Hackney.

She was preceded in death by both grandfathers, Joseph D. Bock and Harold E. Hackney.

She is survived by her loving parents, Mark and Valerie Hackney; two sisters, Josie and Ginger Hackney; grandparents, Virginia (Donald) Channell and Velcie Hackney, all of Oak Hill; and great-grandmother, Marie Nichols of Wellston. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Bethany was a student of Oak Hill High School and Buckeye Hills Career Center where her goal was to become a CNP specializing in pediatrics. She loved life to the fullest every day. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word on her lips. Anyone who knew her was blessed beyond imagination by her giving soul.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the Church of the Nazarene in Jackson with Pastor Todd Barlow officiating. Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery in Oak Hill. Friends may call Monday, February 11, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Hackney Memorial Fund, c/o Milton Bank in Oak Hill.
