Gladys E. Angel, age 86, of Crown City, ‘Went to be with her Lord’ on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the Arbors at Gallipolis. Born October 9, 1926, in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Eva Wears Stewart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Ralph Edward Angel whom she married on July 3, 1946, and who preceded her on March 31, 2011; a son, Johnny Angel; a granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Angel Powell; a brother, Bill Stewart; two sisters, Irene Simpkins and Bernice Fellure Houck; brothers-in-law, Donald, James, Raymond (Bill) and Ernest Angel, Francis Crouse, Kenneth Bray, Howard Fellure, Ernest Hively and John Houck; sisters-in-law, Carrie B. Angel, Linda F. Angel, Audrey Saunders and Irene Hively; nephews, Marion Joe Clary, Michael R. Gibson, Bill Eugene Angel and James Hively; nieces, Joann Angel Swain, Jill Angel Preece, Sandy Perkins and Juanita Hively; and by her father and mother-in-law, Brady and Belva Martin Angel.

Gladys attended Brush College. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.

Gladys is survived by two sons, Ronald (Joanna) Angel of Gallipolis, Kevin (Anna) Angel of Crown City; grandchildren, Ronald Chad Angel of Huntington, John Matthew (Angela) Angel of Crown City, Michael S. (Melissa) Angel of Crown City, Kimberly (Jason) Rollins of Georgia, Crystal Angel of Crown City; great-grandchildren, Macy Powell and Keeley Powell of Gallipolis, Raven Storm Angel and Ava Angel of Crown City, and Kason Rollins of Memphis, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, Shirley (Lin) Angel, Brady Junior (Rosemary) Angel, Charles Roger (Vickie) Angel, Jim Clary City and Lowen C. Saunders all of Crown City; sisters-in-law, Betty Angel Crouse of Gallipolis, Josephine (Irwin) Gibson, of Coshocton, Myrtle Irene (Basil) Holley of Bidwell, Dorothy (Don) Perkins of Gallipolis, Barbara Chambers of Sarasota, Fla., Lucy Bray (Pat) Westover of Streetman, Texas, and Pauline (Mike) Jeffers of Westerville, Audrey Angel of Gallipolis, Juanita Angel of Crown City, Peggy Stewart of Thurman and Ruby Stewart of St. Clairsville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Troy Delaney officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
