RIO GRANDE — The University of Rio Grande School of Arts and Letters recently hosted Gallia County’s All-County Band and Choir.

This is the fifth year the event has been a part of the Academic Festival at the Lyne Center on campus. The choir and band were directed by Rio faculty members Dr. Sarin Williams and Gary Stewart, respectively.

The All-County band and choir each include at least 50 students from South Gallia High School and River Valley High School. Stewart said several music majors also assisted the high school students during rehearsals and preparing for the concert. Nearly three hundred community members came to the festival to watch the students show off their musical talents.
