Stirring up dinner ‘down on the farm’

Larry Carter, left, and Rob Moses, members of the Bean Crew, share a laugh while cooking bean soup during the Bob Evans Farm Festival Saturday in Rio Grande. Several cauldrons of the popular meal were being cooked at the annual event, and were available for sale to the thousands of visitors who flocked to the historic farm for the festival held Friday through Sunday. One of the highlights of the 45th annual festival “down on the farm” was a Saturday night performance by country music artist Ricky Skaggs. About 30,000-plus people converged on Rio Grande for the annual event.
