GALLIPOLIS — Throngs of fans turned out Wednesday night at the Gallia County Junior Fair to watch an up-and-coming country music duo dazzle the audience.

“Maddie and Tae” performed live on the main stage at the fairgrounds, much to the delight of fans both young and old.

The duo, Madison Marlow and Taylor Dye, performed such hits as “Sierra,” “Fly” and the well-known “Girl in a Country Song,” among others. They even performed their own version of “Landslide,” a song first made famous by supergroup Fleetwood Mac, with singer Stevie Nicks on lead vocals, in 1975, and later covered in 2002 by both the Dixie Chicks and Smashing Pumpkins.

The Charlie Daniels Band will perform Thursday night on the main stage of the fair.

Admission to the Gallia County Junior Fair is $8, which includes rides and entertainment. Parking is free.

Permanent seating is not available for any of the entertainment shows, so people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
