Devils 3rd, Angels 4th at Vinton County meet

McARTHUR, Ohio — The Gallia Academy track and field teams combined for five top-finishes Tuesday night at Vinton County, as the Blue Devils took third and the Blue Angels were fourth in the six-team meet.

Unioto won the boys team competition with a score of 168.5, followed by Athens with a 138 and GAHS with a 100.5. The host Vikings were fourth with a 55, while Federal Hocking was fifth with 30 and Wellston was sixth with 20.

The Blue Devil 4x400m relay team of Kaleb Crisenbery, Zac Bokal, Isaiah Lester and Dylan Nunn claimed first place with a time of 3:45.5, while the 4x200m relay team of Bokal, Lester, Logan Carpenter and Zach Johnson was second with a time of 1:40.3.

The Gallia Academy relay team of Caleb Greenlee, Kyle Greenlee, Mitchell Bolin and Cade Mason was third in the 4x800m (9:44.8), while the team of Carpenter, Bokal, Johnson and Nunn was third in the 4x100m relay (48.7).

GAHS senior Drew VanSickle claimed first in the shot put with a distance of 34-7.5, while taking third in the discus with a throw of 96-03.

Lester took second in the 400m dash (53.0), Nunn was second in the 200m dash (25.5), Crisenbery was second in the high jump (6-00), while Kyle Greenlee finished second in the pole vault (10-00).

Unioto also won the girls team competition with a score of 169, while Athens was second with 119. Vinton County took third with a 103.66, the Blue Angels were fourth with an 85.33, while Federal Hocking was fifth with eight and Wellston was sixth with four.

The GAHS 4x800m relay team of Caitlin Caldwell, Abby Cremeans, Sabrina Manygoats and Halley Deem was third with a time of 13:49.6, while the 4x400m relay team of Mary Watts, Mesa Polcyn, Jamie Canfield and Madi Oiler was third with a time of 4:44.7.

Oiler took first in both hurdle events, with a time of 16.6 in the 100m hurdles and a time of 47.6 in the 300m hurdles. Watts was first in the 400m dash with a time of 1:07.8, while claiming second in the high jump (4-8).

GAHS freshman McKenzie Skidmore was second in the long jump (12-8.25), while fellow freshman Erin Lincoln was third in the 100m dash (14.0).
