JACKSON, Ohio — Another week down and the Blue Angels remain unbeaten.

The Gallia Academy volleyball team improved to 14-0 Thursday evening, claiming a straight-game Southeastern Ohio Athletic League victory over host Jackson.

The Blue Angels (14-0, 3-0 SEOAL) never trailed in the opening game, allowing just four service points en route to a 25-11 victory. Jackson managed to tie the second game at six, but could never gain an advantage and Gallia Academy claimed the 25-14 win.

The third game — which featured six lead changes and 10 ties — seemed to be going in Jackson’s favor as the Ironladies led 19-14. However, GAHS battled back to take the 25-23 victory, capped off by three straight service points by sophomore Grace Martin.

The Blue Angels’ service attack was led by freshman Ashton Webb with 11 points, followed by Carly Shriver with 10 points and two aces. Jenna Meadows and Grace Martin both marked eight points and one ace, Jordan Walker added five points and one ace, Ryleigh Caldwell finished with four points, while Abby Wood finished with two points and one ace in the win.

At the net Gallia Academy was led by Webb with 10 kills and a block, followed by Hanna Johnson with eight kills and two blocks. Walker posted seven kills and one block, Meadows added six kills and one block, Martin chipped in with five kills and three blocks, while Caldwell finished with five kills. Rounding out the GAHS net attack were Brooke Pasquale with two kills and Shriver with one.

Gallia Academy, which is ranked 15th in the OHSVCA Division II Poll, has won 10-of-14 matches in straight games. The Blue Angels will look to sweep Jackson on October 15, when the Ironladies visit Centenary.

GAHS returns to the court on Wednesday, when the Blue Angels visit Rock Hill.
