Truman “Junior” Wolford, 72, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at his residence.

Junior was born December 11, 1939, in Crown City, son of the late Truman and Gladys Cox Wolford. He married Judy Shafer on October 31, 1964, and she survives him.

Junior was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Wolford of Gallipolis; three children, Lisa Wolford and James (Tara) Wolford, both of Crown City and Jennifer Burgess of Chillicothe, Ohio; four grandchildren, Taylor and Jayla Wolford, Whitney and Kristen Burgess; two great-grandchildren, Jaymie and Jaxson Burgess; two sisters, Jewell Wolford of Gallipolis and Mary Wolford of Crown City; one brother, Don (Brenda) Wolford of Crown City; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by three sisters, Bessie Bowman, Ina Phillips and Letha Mae Davis and three brothers, Earl, Carl and Keith Wolford.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Kings Chapel Church with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. His body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Kings Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Willis Funeral Home.
