He's on the team

Dear Editor:

The Fall Sports Guide-2008 supplement to the Gallipolis Daily Tribune that was inserted into the Aug. 21 issue detailed each Gallia County high school's fall varsity sports team schedule and outlook as provided by each head coach, we assume. For the Gallia Academy varsity football team, we feel there was an extreme oversight that we would like to correct.

Will Morris, a senior lineman for 2008 Gallia Academy football team, and our son, was not mentioned in the preview, even though every other senior on this team was. This oversight was discussed by our son with the head coach and he said it was a mistake and he apologized to our son. Will (#71) has been a dedicated member of the GAHS football team every year since seventh grade. He has had his ups and downs, and has worked hard each year and off-season for playing time and had never given up.

Will is a great kid, a great son, and we are sure a great member of this team. This is our way of correcting this oversight. Will, we are proud of you and recognize you as a senior contributing member of the 2008 Blue Devil football team. Have a great senior year on the field and in the classroom. Go Blue!
