STEWART, Ohio — A rough night on the road.
The Lady Raiders dropped a non-conference match in straight game to host Federal Hocking, Tuesday night in Athens County.
The Lady Lancers edged River Valley (1-1) 25-22 in the opening game, and followed it up with a 25-14 victory in game two. FHHS closed the door with a 25-18 victory in the third game.
The Lady Raiders scoring was led by Rachael Smith with nine points and Courtney Smith with six. Angel Toler marked four points, Chelsea Copley added three, while Kaela Shaw finished with one service point.
Leia Moore and Courtney Smith each had four kills to pace the RVHS net attack, Rachael Smith added three, while Jacey Walter posted one kill. Rachael Smith led the defense with three blocks, followed by Moore with two. Courtney Smith led the Lady Raiders with two assists, followed by Copley with one, while Toler and Alex Truance each had a dig.
These teams will meet again on September 17, in Bidwell. RVHS returns to action on Thursday when it hosts Belpre.
