GLOUSTER, Ohio — Now that’s defending home turf.

The Miller golf team took a 15-stroke victory Monday night, while Trimble took second in the Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division quad match at the Forest Hills Golf Course, the home of the Falcons and Tomcats.

Miller was led by two of the three match medalists, Chris Gamble and Shawn Hayes, who both shot two-over par 36. Austin Doughty fired a 41 and Tylor Newman posted a 46 to round out the MHS total of 159. Also golfing for the Falcons were Scotty Duffy (54) and Collin Pargeon (57).

Trimble was second with a 174, led by Cole Shifflet with a 38 and Nick Smith with a 41. Brayton Hazen marked a 42, while Jeff Browning marked a 53 for the Tomcats. Casey Moore (54) and Korban Cruse (65) also played for THS.

Southern was third with a 175 led by co-medalist Jacob Hoback, a senior who shot a 36. Tanner Roush and Ryan Schenkelberg each shot 45, while Tanner Thorla rounded out the SHS team score with a 49. Jonah Hoback (52) and Eli Hunter (59) also played for the Purple and Gold.

South Gallia was led by junior Cuyler Mills with a 43 and senior Chris Brumfield with a 44. Curtis Haner marked a 59 and Tristen Davis added a 66 to round out the SGHS total of 213.

Southern returns to action at Eastern on Thursday, while the Rebels return on Tuesday at Belpre.
