Words are contracts. There has never been a contract ever made or filed that hasn’t been done without words. Every contract is made of words.

Even God’s contract (covenant) was made of words. The Ten Commandments were made of words. God’s commands, instructions and judgments were — and are — made of words. Without words nothing happens.

God created the entire universe and all living things by speaking them into existence. He established life by his words. This is a powerful reality, one that we must always keep in mind.

Furthermore, our salvation is established with words. Without our own words, the finished work of Christ will never work for our salvation because our confession is what “seals the deal” so to speak. Our words, establish the new covenant in our lives.

Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) says: 9 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Notice that if we believe with the heart, and we confess, or declare that which we believe (the Lord Jesus and that he was raised from the dead) we become born from above (saved). Jesus established a covenant that was completely done by him, but accepted and received or contracted by our words.

Without our confession there is no salvation. Let me say it another way; without our repentance and confession of Christ in our lives, there is really no contract established with Christ.

Moreover, our prayer life is based on words. Why? Because prayer, spiritually speaking, is like doing business with God. You place the petition or request, and Father provides. It is the universal contractual form of agreement between two parties.

Therefore, it is important to watch what we say. It is also important to pray intentionally, wisely, and from the heart. Our prayers are contracts that establish the Kingdom of God in the situation in which we are asking Father God to take care of for us.

Let your words count for the glory of God and for the benefit of your life and those around you. Remember, life and death are in the power of your tongue (Proverbs 18:21)

Make it a great word day!
