VINTON — The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking information about the theft of more than $100,000 of equipment from a farm in Morgan Township.
According to a report filed with the sheriff’s office earlier this month, sometime between June 7 and June 16, several pieces of construction equipment were stolen from an unoccupied farm located in the Fredrick Road area just off of Ohio 160.
The equipment, which included a skid steer valued at $72,000, a mulching attachment for a skid steer and a skid steer bucket, was reportedly strapped onto an 18-foot goose-neck trailer when it was stolen.
The person or persons responsible reportedly not only stole the equipment, but also the entire trailer to which it was strapped.
The Kubota skid steer was described by the property owners as orange with black trim and a customized door for the safety cage area. In addition, the mulching attachment system for the skid steer was bright lime green.
The report further specifies that the 18-foot trailer had a full load gate that stretched all the way across the length of the trailer.
The stolen property has reportedly been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
Individuals who may have information in regard to the equipment stolen from Frederick Road should contact the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office via their anonymous tip line at (740) 446-6555.
