GALLIPOLIS — The popular local restaurant, Tuscany Cuccini — often referred to as the “Italian Restaurant” — officially reopened Saturday after being closed for six months due to a devastating fire last November.

According to Chef Francisco Ortiz, reopening in the same location was very important to him, not only because he wanted to continue providing “great food to his loyal customers,” whom he often refers to as friends and family, but also because of the support they received after the fire.

“I was overwhelmed (by the support from the community). When the fire happened, I had message after message on Facebook. It was devastating, but it was joyful that people were being supportive at that time. It made it a lot better,” he said.

Tuscany Cuccini is located at 1308 Eastern Ave., in Gallipolis. Their hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
