HARRISON TWP — Volunteer firefighters responded to a structure fire Thursday in the southern part of Gallia County, but the home was a total loss.
According to Harrison Township Fire Chief Brian Hoffman, his department was notified by Gallia County 9-1-1 at approximately 9:30 p.m. by homeowners on Boggs Road, who said they were in the yard when they heard a “pop” followed by the sight of flames.
Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department received mutual aid from the Rio Grande Volunteer Fire Department and District 2 Volunteer Fire Department.
Hoffman said the home was a total loss and that the homeowners had no insurance. He said the American Red Cross responded to help the residents with their immediate needs.
