The rainy weather did not deter visitors who were determined to make the 12th Annual Mothman Festival another success. Downtown Point Pleasant was once again packed with people from not only the Mason, Meigs, Gallia area but far beyond for the festival that celebrates not only that unexplained, winged creature but the history of Mason County. It was also a weekend where businesses across Mason County, as well as surrounding counties, benefited from the economic boost of nearly 4,000 people spending money from Main Street to the West Virginia State Farm Museum. Pictured are Mothman at Gunn Park showing off his new “look” for this year as well as Chad Dillard, a vendor from Alabama, sharing a musical moment with a young visitor to the festival. Speaking of music, pictured is the silhouette of DJ Kos, a native of Parkersburg, performing his unique paranormal visual and musical experience at the historic State Theater for the First Mothman Ball. More pictures from the Mothman Festival appear on the inside of Tuesday’s Point Pleasant Register.
