Grads earn Kiwanis scholarships


Three Gallia County high school graduates were each awarded $500 scholarships during a recent picnic in their honor by the Gallipolis Kiwanis Club. Pictured, from left, are Kelsey Purdum, a 2015 graduate of Gallia Academy High School who will attend Morehead State University this fall to study education; Bruce Moreaux, a 2015 GAHS graduate who will attend Ohio State University and major in biology (pre-med for dental school); Dr. Rodney B. Stout, president of the Gallipolis Chapter of Kiwanis Club; and Chelsea Copley, a 2015 graduate of River Valley High School who will attend the College of Wooster this fall to study communication sciences and disorders, with a minor in education.
