Staff Report

McARTHUR — The Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigations Bureau has arrested a Vinton County man for an intentionally set fire that occurred just before 9 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Standard Hardware & Supply Co. located at 109 E. Main St. in McArthur.

David Andrew Cline, of McArthur, is being held at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. Vinton County Prosecuting Attorney Trecia Kimes-Brown will file charges against Cline in the near future, and an arraignment/bail hearing will follow.

The McArthur Fire Department responded to the scene. The investigation was conducted in conjunction with the fire department, the prosecuting attorney’s office and the McArthur Police Department.

“This is an excellent example of state and local officials working together to solve a case of an intentionally set fire,” said State Fire Marshal Larry L. Flowers. “I extend my gratitude to the Vinton County agencies and the investigators from our office who were involved.”
