Vinton Elementary School was the scene recently for “Career Day.” The goal for the day was to bring awareness of the variety of occupations and resources within the community, the skills and knowledge needed to become a part of a profession and to make connections between student’s current learning with future learning. In this photo, students learn about money from an Ohio Valley Bank representative. School officials said students were fascinated by the presentations and excited to learn about careers that they may want to pursue in the future. Many community members, parents and businesses were involved in making Career Day. Those who were presenters and participators include GKN, OVB, AEP, Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, Amy Yeager (public school treasurer), Buckeye Rural Electric, R&C Packing, Circle S Trucking, Maggie Wallace (South Gallia High School senior Capstone presentation), Phil Yeager (natural gas representative), and Buckeye Hills Career Center.
