Frankie is less than a year old. Shelter workers believe he may be part Husky. He is a high-energy animal but good with other dogs and people. Workers say Frankie loves the snow.


Elsa is a estimated to be less than a year old. She is a high-energy dog and friendly with other dogs and people. Workers say she was discovered near Summit Road with a tag and a number.


GALLIPOLIS — The Gallia County K-9 Shelter is always on the lookout to provide adoption opportunities for stray and unwanted dogs. For more information on how to begin the dog adoption process, contact the shelter at (740) 441-0207. Gallia County K-9 Shelter does not handle animal cases outside of dogs.

The shelter will be changing its Monday hours for the winter season. Hours the shelter is open to the public are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The dog warden also reminds individuals that now is the time to buy tags for their animals to avoid potential fines.
