Sheriff’s office arrests man for outstanding warrants

GALLIPOLIS — Deputies from the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Hannah, 33, of Glenford, Ohio, for outstanding warrants from Delaware County.

According to information obtained from the sheriff’s office, a deputy observed Hannah, who was walking in the Bidwell area near State Route 554. A deputy approached Hannah asking for his name. Hannah allegedly provided a false one. The deputy asked for an ID and Hannah allegedly said he did not have one. After being asked for his Social Security number, Hannah allegedly wrote it down for the officer. The officer called the number in and placed Hannah under arrest for outstanding warrants and a violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.31(A)(1).

According to the sheriff’s office, Hannah allegedly “did without privilege and knowledge to do so, and with purpose to prevent, obstruct or delay the performance by a public official of an authorized act within the public official’s official capacity, hampered or impeded a public official in the performance of the public official’s lawful duties.

According to the Delaware County Clerk of Courts website, Hannah is allegedly involved in open cases with felony theft charges.
