BIDWELL — Authorities apparently believe that the fire Saturday at the Gallia Metropolitan Housing Authority’s Buck Ridge apartments may have been deliberately set.

According to a detail call sheet obtained Saturday evening from Gallia County 911, the State Fire Marshal was contacted in the wake of the blaze and is scheduled to visit Buck Ridge on Monday to conduct an investigation. The fire was reported to Gallia County 911 at 3:43 p.m. Saturday by a resident of the apartment complex, which is located at 381 Buck Ridge Road, just north of Jackson Pike. According to the call sheet, the fire was in the vicinity of units 17 and 18.

The Gallipolis and Rio Grande volunteer fire departments, Gallia County EMS and Gallia County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. No serious injuries were reported.
