ASHTON, W.Va. — Wahama led wire-to-wire and had 11 different players reach the scoring column on Friday night during a convincing 82-30 victory over host Hannan in a non-conference boys basketball matchup in Mason County.

The visiting White Falcons (9-6) stormed out to a 15-5 advantage after eight minutes of play, then went on a 25-3 surge in the second canto for a comfortable 40-8 cushion at the intermission.

The Wildcats (1-14) made their strongest charge in the third period, but were outscored 17-13 during that frame as Wahama took a 57-21 lead into the finale. WHS closed the game on a 25-9 surge, wrapping up the 52-point outcome.

The Red and White also defeated HHS by a 92-20 margin in Mason back on January 29, with Friday’s outcome completing the season sweep.

Zach Whitlatch led the Falcons with a game-high 17 points, followed by Trenton Gibbs with 13 and Ryan Lee with 10 markers. Hunter Oliver and Matt Arnold both added nine points, while Anthony Bond and Isaac Lee contributed seven and six points to the winning cause, respectively.

Tyler Roush had four points and Austin Jordan added three for the guests. Elijah Honaker and Tyler Kitchen rounded out the scoring with two points apiece. WHS was 19-of-32 at the free throw line for 59 percent.

Derrick Akers paced the Blue and Gold with 11 points, followed by Alex Facemyer with eight and Jacob Taylor with six markers. Jared Cobb and Brad Fannin rounded out the respective scoring with three and two points. HHS was 4-of-10 at the free throw line for 40 percent.

Hannan returns to action Tuesday when it travels to Cross Lanes Christian for a girls-boys doubleheader at 6 p.m.
