Larry Gene Mitchell, 69, Upper River Road, Gallipolis, passed away at 3:45 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010, in the Emergency Department of the Holzer Medical Center.

Born April 9, 1940, in Mason County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John Calvin and Flora Glenn Mitchell. He was a self-employed automotive painter. He is survived by his son, Brett (Melissa) Mitchell, Gallipolis; daughter, Tania (Kim) Hester, Gallipolis; grandsons, Brendan Mitchell and Zephin Hester; two sisters-in-law, Beulah Belle Mitchell, Gallipolis, and Elizabeth Mitchell, Bidwell. He is also survived by his former wives, Lois Mitchell and Carol Mink; and two special friends, John Foster and Tim Bailey; and several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Calvin, Lawrence, Bobby, Sherman and Otho Mitchell; and one sister, Mary Mitchell Davis.

In keeping with Larry’s request, there will be no funeral services or visitation. Cremation services by the Cremeens Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be mailed to the Mitchell family at 546 Ann Drive, Gallipolis, OH 45631.
