ASHTON — The Wahama Lady Falcons (11-8) completed the season sweep of Mason County opponent Hannan on Thursday evening, with a 55-39 victory.
The Lady Falcons led by a score of 16-6 at the end of the first quarter. Hannan outscored the Lady Falcons 8-6 in the second quarter, but Wahama led at the half by a score of 22-14.
Wahama outscored the Lady ‘Cats 16-14 in the third quarter, increasing the lead to 10 points. Wahama was up 38-28 going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Falcons again outscored Hannan in the final quarter, this time by a score of 17-11. Wahama won by a final score of 55-39.
Wahama had previously defeated Hannan on Dec. 18, in the Wahama Holiday Tournament by a score of 52-29.
The Lady Falcons were led in scoring by Taylor Hysell with 18 points. Alex Wood and Kelsey Zuspan each added nine points, Mackenzie Gabritsch had six points, Katie Davis scored five points, and Kayla Lanier and Karista Ferguson each had four points.
Hannan was led by Brittany Edmonds with 17 points. Abby Bush scored 10 points, Jennifer Swan had six points, Katie Ellis added four points, and Christie Williams scored two points.
Wahama hosts Cross Lanes Christian on Monday with the girls game beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity boys contest at 7:30 p.m.
Hannan travels to Cross Lanes Christian for a girls-boys doubleheader.
