Six more alleged shoplifters charged

GALLIPOLIS — Gallipolis City Police responded to Walmart Supercenter on Eastern Avenue four separate times on Tuesday to investigate shoplifting complaints, making it a total of eight calls in just two days.

Jill Survaugh, 49, Crown City, is facing theft charges after allegedly shoplifting $100 worth of various merchandise, including vacuum bags, candy and cat litter. The incident took place at approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Laurel Henson, 44, Gallipolis, is facing theft charges for allegedly shoplifting several clothing items valued at approximately $30. The incident took place at approximately 4:40 p.m.

James D. Clark, 25, and Bridget Hunter, 25, both of Point Pleasant, W.Va., face theft charges for allegedly shoplifting a trifold wallet and fragrances valued at approximately $75. The incident took place at approximately 5:46 p.m.

Brittany Duncan, 22, Point Pleasant, W.Va., faces theft charges after allegedly stealing a wallcharger with a pricetag of approximately $15. A second person, Corrina Bryant, 22, also of Point Pleasant, faces complicity and criminal trespass charges. The incident took place at approximately 11:05 p.m.

The two alleged shoplifters arrested on Monday, Anthony Ulfves, 21, Crown City, and Alex Lee, 19, Gallipolis, and are scheduled for preliminary hearings on Feb. 9 and Feb. 24, respectively.
