GALLIPOLIS — The city’s fast-food restaurants and other food establishments that offer drive-thru and carry-out service may begin preparations to reopen, according to a press release Monday afternoon from the Gallia County Health Department.
According to the news release, carry out/drive thru pizza and bars should begin preparing immediately for reopening. Health department officials said carry out/drive thru pizza restaurants and bars are considered “low risk facilities.”
But before they can reopen to the public, they must pass inspection by a licensed health department sanitarian. According to the release, “Sanitarians will be working (Monday) evening to conduct these inspections.”

According to the health department, fast-food restaurants with drive-thru capabilities only should prepare Tuesday for re-opening. Again, an inspection is necessary by a registered sanitarian. To complete the inspections as quickly as possible, the Gallia County Health Department will bring in “additional resources.” The aforementioned conditions must again be met before these restaurants can open its doors to the public.
